First Card coming soon! First Rules ALL READ and give opinions

XWFGREEN

We are going to be posting our first card in the next couple of days and these will be the rules for that show.  Think of this as a template; everyone should feel free to give their opinions in the thread below.  This is something that we can fluctuate as the flow of the fed changes.  We encourage open dialogue in a public forum in a civil manner for everyone to discuss, ask questions, voice concerns, or raise any quandaries they may have regarding these rules...

Frenzy is our first Card that will be Booked,  it is the bigger show, as Savage is a small RP and development format. It will be a two-week show(alternating weeks with Savage, yes you can do both, or just one) with 3RP MAX & 3K WORD PER RP MAX. We will not have a 'soft deadline' after the end of the first week; however, if you do not roleplay in the first week you will have an extremely hard time coming back to win that match; what we will be experimenting within this first show is a health bar that will show the direction of the match after the first week of roleplaying.

If you roleplay first you will have a very minor advantage in the scoring of the match and the movement of the health bar posted after the first week.  It would be very minor in a 1 or 2 point out of 100 health bar difference which could be negated by a great response RP.  More to play around with here as time progresses.  You will also see your character take the upper hand of the match early in the results.

For Example...

Peter RP's twice in the first week and Maddy RP's none, in this scenario Peter would see a major advantage in the match and Maddy would have to have three incredibly outstanding roleplays in the second week to overcome that deficit. The health bar would reflect that as well after the first week. Basically, it is still possible to overcome not roleplaying the first week, but it would be incredibly difficult and would require three very strong roleplays in the final week. RPs early will be positively reinforced and not having one roleplay in the first week adversely affecting you very negatively but not completely insurmountable.

The health bars posted at the end of the first week would be considered OOC and just a spot for you to gauge the momentum of the match as the roleplaying progress throughout the roleplay cycle.  For instance, your character could say something like "I've come out here twice now and you've said nothing!"  But he wouldn't come out and say "I have inflicted 30% of the damage I need to beat you based on what the judges have said?"

There will be an anti-flood rule that states that once you post an RP you must wait 48 hours OR until your opponent RP's before you can post again.  Should your opponent post before the 48 hour time window after your most recent post then you are free to post again immediately after said opponent's RP.

No matter what you can only post one roleplay in the last 24 hours before the deadline unless you have already reached the maximum amount allowed for the match/show.  Minimizing sandbagging and deadline bombing and easing the amount of last-minute roleplays that need to be judged.

WE WILL NEVER HAVE A 'COLD OPEN' or any types of rules that will restrict what can and can not be said in a roleplay against your opponent In Character.

This type of 'cold open' rule does nothing but protect weaker trash talkers from engaging in the dialogue of the back and forth concept of the match and the entire process of this e-fedding game in general.  These type of restrictions on creativity leak their way into the second RP of the match and so forth and essentially just delay the back and forth banter even further until we're almost avoiding trash talking at all completely!  Which is a major component in scoring points for roleplays in this game.

We will POSITIVELY reinforce folks to roleplay first and engage their opponent early in the roleplaying cycle and reward them with minor advantages in the match scoring process, and other advantages in the writing of the match as far as getting the upper hand early goes.  We will never NEGATIVELY score anyone for responding to their opponent and playing the game the way it was meant to be played.

One bit of advice I give to anyone in the trash-talking game is to BE CONFIDENT AND COME OUT GUNS BLAZING!  Think about it, if you're sitting around and waiting for what your opponent is going to say then what kind of message are you going to convey through the dialogue of your character as far as confidence is concerned?  Be confident and go after your opponent first mentioning numerous storylines taking place throughout the fed and you'll be surprised at what type of message you are trying to convey about your character when you get the jump on your opponent about any number of topics and storylines enveloping throughout the fed.

All other basic efed rules apply.  No plagiarizing of any kind or attacking or using anyone else characters in a roleplay without the handler's permission.

Do not put any OOC material in any IC sections in the fed.

To Recap...

doh 2 week RP cycle alternates Savage.

doh  3 RPs allowed total allowed PER Frenzy.

doh  3k MAX limit on each RP you do for Frenzy.

doh  Health Meters to increase early activity in roleplaying cycle.

doh  48 Hours between your RPs OR until your opponent RPs.

doh  One RP allowed in the last 24 hours no matter what.

doh  Plagiarizing in RP or as Characters is prohibited.

doh  No OOC in IC sections. Please just use OOC.

Peter —  We realize the health bars being posted at the end of the first week sounds confusing at first but won’t require any effort from you other than doing what you normally do and get one rp up in the first week.  It’s a test to see how it increases and promotes early role playing and avoid the foolish “cold open” rule as opposed to having a soft deadline as well. Every other rule I believe you are already familiar with.  2 weeks to rp and 3 rps total with 3k word max for each.  No more silly cold open rules so you can reply to your opponent anyway you want.  Only one rp on the last day 24 hours and 48 hour anti-flood rule.  I wouldn’t try to delve too far into the health bars and just check the bars when we post them after the first week so you can see how your match is going.

You're already used to this for the most part.

Posting 3 RPs for a show, and each RP has a limit of 3k words...  You've done that.

Don't post more than 1 RP on the final day of RPing (should already be common sense / e-fed etiquette)

You also already know to wait 48 hours or more between RPs (unless your opponent RPs before then).

You already know not to use somebody else's character without permission, and not to go OOC.

The only thing here that might be new to you is how we'll be showing the "health" bars midway through RPing to give people an idea of how they're doing, but that doesn't require ANY extra work from you.   It's just to give you more information on how you're doing.
